you don’t know how little you are until you’re alone.
to wake up into silence,
to walk with no purpose,
to face the inevitable with no one to support.
you don’t know how little you are until you’re alone.
at your highest of highs,
at your lowest of lows,
even in a room full of a thousand,
you don’t know how little you are until you’re alone.
go ahead, rest your mind,
against the pillow soaked with tears,
go ahead, put on your music,
block out all your fears,
avoid all your problems all at once and you’ll be stuck aimless like a drone,
because you don’t know how little you are until you are alone.
