There’s something about leaves falling off of trees and slowly drifting down.
You’d figure that a tree would know when it’s time to let leaves go, the colors yellow and brown.
I guess the leaves have no choice, but to fall far away.
But whatever happens to the leaves who decide to stay?
The air turns cold and leaves turn brown and struggle to hold on.
They’ll hang on with all their might, and until their strength is gone.
By then you’d wonder why the leaves held on, or even tried.
It seems so weird that they’d hang on, even though they’ll die.
I wonder why I didn’t let go or even really try.
